Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending February 13, 2011

I’m back for yet another week of bringing you info on which movies performed the best in the home entertainment department. This list is from data compiled by Rentrak for the week ending February 13, 2011.

It comes as no real surprise that, during its first week of release, Paranormal Activity 2 ranked as the best-selling movie last week. The franchise has gained quite the acclaim and following as the low budget film continues to bring in truck loads of money for the studio. Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 holds strong as well, only falling to second place in its second week of release. Meanwhile, For Colored Girls and Life as We Know It debut at numbers 3 and 4 respectively while Red rounds out the top 5.

Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending February 6, 2011

Well it’s another week and I’m back to bring you the data from last weeks sales and rentals in the DVD/Blu-ray department. This information comes from data compiled by Rentrak for the week ending February 6, 2011. Sadly, this week’s results come with some bad news. Last week’s best-selling movie was none other than…wait for it…Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. Yea. Sad isn’t it. Go ahead and take the time to let that soak in and mourn knowing what influence sales have on dictating what studios will create and release in the future.

Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending January 30, 2011

We’re back for another week of looking at the sales and rentals for DVD and Blu-rays last week. This list features the top selling and most rented movies from the week ending January 30, 2011.

Last week’s sales sees newcomers dominating the chart. Red, Secretariat, Open Season 3 and Saw: The Final Chapter take the top 4 spots in their debut week. Rounding out the top five is Takers. The other newcomer to make the chart was the Season 2 release of the TV show Glee. In somewhat surprising news, Buzz Lightyear and Woody prove they just won’t die as Toy Story 3 actually returns to the charts 3 months after release, landing at number ten.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for the Week of January 25, 2011

Back again, and as always, today we bring you the latest releases on DVD and Blu-ray for the week. This week’s releases include Saw 3D, the action-comedy RED and the inspiring true-story of Secretariat. Also we get Blu-ray releases of A Beautiful Mind and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Saw 3D Gets Release Date for DVD and Blu-Ray

Lionsgate have revealed that Saw 3D will release on DVD and Blu-ray on January 25, 2011. Furthermore, this will apparently be the last Saw movie as the box art for the movie has taken on the subtitle of The Final Chapter.
