Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending February 6, 2011

Well it’s another week and I’m back to bring you the data from last weeks sales and rentals in the DVD/Blu-ray department. This information comes from data compiled by Rentrak for the week ending February 6, 2011. Sadly, this week’s results come with some bad news. Last week’s best-selling movie was none other than…wait for it…Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. Yea. Sad isn’t it. Go ahead and take the time to let that soak in and mourn knowing what influence sales have on dictating what studios will create and release in the future.

Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending January 30, 2011

We’re back for another week of looking at the sales and rentals for DVD and Blu-rays last week. This list features the top selling and most rented movies from the week ending January 30, 2011.

Last week’s sales sees newcomers dominating the chart. Red, Secretariat, Open Season 3 and Saw: The Final Chapter take the top 4 spots in their debut week. Rounding out the top five is Takers. The other newcomer to make the chart was the Season 2 release of the TV show Glee. In somewhat surprising news, Buzz Lightyear and Woody prove they just won’t die as Toy Story 3 actually returns to the charts 3 months after release, landing at number ten.

Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending January 23, 2011

So it’s another week and, again, we have the lists for the the top selling and most rented movies released last week. These charts come from data collected from the week ending January 23, 2011. Last week’s sales see newcomer Takers taking over the top spot, knocking The Social Network down to second place. Fellow newcomer Death Race 2 makes its debut at number three. Meanwhile, two animated films round out the top 5 with Despicable Me at #4 and Alpha and Omega at #5. Oddly enough, my favorite release of the week, Buried (you can read the review HERE) doesn’t even break the top ten.

Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending January 16, 2011

The weekly sales reports are in again courtesy of Rentrak for the week ending January 16, 2011. Last week’s biggest selling movie comes as no surpise as Oscar front-runner The Social Network takes the #1 spot. Though, in a somewhat surprising appearance (at least I think so), the animated movie Alpha and Omega debuts in the #2 spot. This drops last week’s front-runners Machete and Dinner for Schmucks to the #3 and #4 spots respectively. Despicable Me rounds out the top five as Eclipse still holds strong in its 7th week at number six.
