Check out who walked away with Hollywood’s biggest awards of the year, right here.
One lucky winner gets a chance to meet the cast and crew of The Amazing Spider-Man.
Votes are in for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards and the nominees for this year have been named. Leading the pack with the most nominations is Twilight: Eclipse. I guess that’s very telling of how seriously this awards show can really be taken. But, the fans have spoken and the glittery vampires have some serious mass appeal. Not far behind, though, is Nolan’s Inception picking up 7 nominations (behind Eclipse‘s 8). Meanwhile, Harry Potter, The Social Network and Black Swantrail just behind those two, with all five being the nominees for “Best Movie”.

So, apparently I’m even more awesome than I thought. Matt Vanacore of FilmMattic has apparently bestowed the coveted and prestigious Versatile Blogger Award upon me. In short, that simply means I’m awesome…and better than you.
In the spirit of the award, though, I’ll be handing out my own awards here to some other fine bloggers that I’ve found amongst the movie blogger community since I started this up. You can check all that out (and why I’m so awesome) through the link.

This year’s festival includes 33 feature-length films, opening with Cafe, a Philadelphia-based drama with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Amish Grace, a biographical drama with Kimberly Williams (We Are Marshall), plus high-profile shorts such as Chapman University’s Without Wings, starring Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit).
Sony Electronics have announced a new contest to allow film students a chance to receive the latest in filmmaking technology. Well, we know Inception didn’t walk away with the Best Picture Oscar last night. However, it did walk away with several of those golden trophies in the technical department. We also know that Christopher Nolan didn’t even receive a nomination in the Best Directing category at the Oscars. A lot of fuss was made over this (rightfully so I believe). Nor did he even get the win when it came to his great screenplay. However, many don’t take this to heart too badly as it’s pretty known that The Academy can be a somewhat snooty bunch when it comes to picking winners. Afterall, the somewhat boring The King’s Speech did win Best Picture. Only further solidifying the perception that “Oscar bait” truly does win over The Academy. However, Nolan and Inception received a little bit of retribution today.
