Men in Black 4 and 21 Jump Street Sequel Get a Writer

Men in Black 4It comes as no surprise that Sony would be interested in continuing the hit Men in Black franchise. After the success of Men in Black 3 (which saw Josh Brolin join Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones), the studio is going ahead with getting the ball rolling on Men in Black 4.

Sony has hired Oren Uziel to write the script for Men in Black 4. No details have been revealed about the plot, though one might have to assume that Will Smith would return.

Uziel is also being brought on to write for another project for Sony. The writer has been tapped to write the script for the 21 Jump Street sequel. The sequel will see Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill return, as well as directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

As teased in the last movie, the 21 Jump Street sequel will see Tatum and Hill move from high school to undercover work in college. It is currently set for a June 6, 2014 release date.

Sony seems pretty high on Oren Uziel after his The Kitchen Sink screenplay was put on The Black List. Sony is already in the process of producing that movie.

Please can we put that MIB series to bed already. Granted that MIB 3 was a bit better than MIB. However, is that really saying anything? Both the sequels were terrible.

21 Jump Street on the other hand was pretty funny.

No way they were gonna give up on MIB franchise since the last one grossed more than any other in the franchise.

21 Jump Street was indeed pretty funny, though.
