Despite A Good Day to Die Hard being lambasted by critics and the movie underperforming a bit at box offices, the franchise is set to continue. We now have news on who will write the script for Die Hard 6, as well as the working title for the film.
Ben Trebilcook has been brought on to write the treatment for the next installment of the Die Hard franchise, which is currently working under the title Die Hardest.
Trebilcook got the gig from his current project Knockout, where he is working with Larry D. Webster who served as a consulting producer on A Good Day to Die Hard. Despite winner over Webster, Trebilcook says he still has some hurdles to jump, including getting approval from Bruce Willis and producer Alex Young.
Trebilcook remains optimistic, though. He seems pretty high on his own work and seems to be a big fan of the genre, looking to return it to its former glory.
“I feel it could be the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise,” said Trebilcook.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out for Trebilcook and the Die Hard franchise.
We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
