The Hobbit Invades Colbert Report

The Colbert Report and The HobbitStarting today, look for The Hobbit to invade the Comedy Central show The Colbert Report. All week long, Stephen Colbert will be showing his Tolkien geekness as he has cast members from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey joining him on his show.

This evening, Sir Ian McKellan will be a guest on the show. Tuesday will see Martin Freeman making an appearance, while director Peter Jackson will join Colbert on Wednesday. Finally, Andy Serkis will be Colbert’s special guest on Thursday.

If you doubt Stephen Colbert’s Tolkien geekness, you need check no further than his remark about this week’s lineup:
“Elen sila lumenn’ omentielvo… I mean that sincerely.”

Colbert has also held a competition with James Franco previously, testing each others’ Lord of the Rings knowledge. Last November, he talked Lord of the Rings with Elijah Wood, even comparing swords with him.

The Colbert Report can be seen each weeknight at 11:30pm ET. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be releasing in theaters on December 14th.
