New ‘Brave’ Featurette Highlights Our Heroine Merida

Disney has released a new featurette for Pixar’s upcoming Brave. The video focuses on thoroughly introducing us to the lead heroine in the movie, Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald). You can check out the video below.

Set in Scotland in a rugged and mythical time, Brave features Merida, an aspiring archer and impetuous daughter of royalty. Merida makes a reckless choice that unleashes unintended peril and forces her to spring into action to set things right.

Brave is directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman. Chapman also wrote the screenplay, along with Irene Mecchi. The voice cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane, Craig Ferguson and Julie Walters.

Brave hits theaters on June 22nd, 2012.
