‘Jaws’ Appears On Blu-ray For The First Time Ever

Over three decades ago, Steven Spielberg’s classic Jaws struck fear into the hearts of millions. To this day, it still stands as one of the best horror films of all-time, and the standard for all creature features. Now, we get to see this magnificent cinematic work in hi-def glory, as Jaws heads to Blu-ray for the first time.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment have announced they’ll be releasing Jaws on Blu-ray this August. That’s August 14th, 2012 to be exact. The release will feature an all-new, digitally mastered and fully restored picture, along with 7.1 surround sound.

The release will come with a number of bonus features. The most interesting one here, however, is the 2-hour documentary which chronicles the making of Jaws. The documentary features never-before-seen footage and interviews with cast and crew including Steven Spielberg, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider.

The Blu-ray will also an in-depth featurette examining the intricate process of restoring the classic film. We’ll also get a look a feature which highlights life on the set of the movie, including an interview with Steven Spielberg.

Along with the above features, we’ll also get outtakes and deleted scenes. The release also comes with the original theatrical trailer and the standard Blu-ray features such as Ultraviolet and pocketBLU.
