Disney Sets Dates For ‘Captain America 2′ and ‘Maleficent’

Disney has announced the release dates for two of their bigger future films. Both are very different types of films. These two live-action films will be hitting theaters in 2014.

Maleficent is something of an origin tale chronicling the origins of the evil fairy Maleficent from Snow White. The live-action film takes a look at the notorious villain’s past and what led her to poison Sleeping Beauty.

Angelina Jolie is already attached to star as the titular role. Maleficent is being directed by Robert Stromberg from a script by Linda Woolverton. The movie will hit theaters on March 14th, 2014.

The follow-up to last year’s Captain America: First Avenger has also been given a release date. The movie will see Chris Evans return as our hero in a modern world. The events of Captain America 2 are set to take place soon after those in this year’s The Avengers.

Captain America 2 hits theaters on April 4th, 2014.
