Ben Kingsley Up For Villain Role In ‘Iron Man 3′

Ben Kingsley is currently in final negotiations with Marvel to star in Iron Man 3. The revered actor is in talks to come on board as the villain for the third film in the franchise.

Any fans hoping that this means the Mandarin will be appearing in the movie should go ahead and give that idea up. Insiders state that Kingsley will not be playing that villain, no matter how great he would be for that role. Instead, the word is that he’ll be a character involved in spreading a virus via nanobots.

This actually makes sense since we know that Iron Man 3 will revolve around the “Extremis” series from Warren Ellis. The arc of Ellis’ series is heavily influenced by nanotechnology.
