  1. DEZMOND says:

THE KING’S SPEECH would be a lovely DVD to own, since it already is a classic of sorts.

    • JL says:

I really thought The King’s Speech was quite overrated, actually. Some really good acting, but the movie itself was kinda boring. Not quite as boring as I thought it would be going into it, but still rather dull and anticlimactic. It’s nothing I have any intention of watching again.

I’m much more interested in Ip Man 2. Loved the first one. Still need to see The Way Back as well.

Also, recently I’ve watched some trailers for movies and that had a teaser for that Goemon movie before them. It looked like a pretty cool movie, so I might check that one out.

  2. DEZMOND says:

yes, but you are a typical fanboy, JL, so it’s quite normal and predictable that you wouldn’t appreciate movies like THE KING’S SPEECH, but I quite liked it and I was happy that thanks to it this year’s Oscars reminded me on some old times when great and refined dramas marked the whole movie season.

    • JL says:

Wow, harsh. I didn’t hate the movie, just thought it definitely wasn’t Best Picture material. All around it was Oscar-bait, hence the reason it got so much praise there. They just tend to look at the technical (“art”) side of movies and completely ignore the entertainment side of the medium. Honestly, the movie was kinda boring. I appreciate the acting in the movie (and the design). The movie itself, I’m done with after one viewing.
