Top DVD/Blu-ray Sales and Rentals for the Week Ending February 6, 2011

Well it’s another week and I’m back to bring you the data from last weeks sales and rentals in the DVD/Blu-ray department. This information comes from data compiled by Rentrak for the week ending February 6, 2011. Sadly, this week’s results come with some bad news. Last week’s best-selling movie was none other than…wait for it…Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. Yea. Sad isn’t it. Go ahead and take the time to let that soak in and mourn knowing what influence sales have on dictating what studios will create and release in the future.

Now that you’ve had time to mourn that blow to the industry of entertainment, we’ll carry on. Last week’s top 3 (Red, Secretariat and Open Season 3) move to numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Rounding out the top five is another newcomer, the horror remake Let Me In.

In the rental department, not much changed. Red, Secretariat and The Social Network still hold the top three spots. In that order. Let Me In comes in at number four though, pushing Takers down a spot to round out the top five. You can check out the full lists below.
